Soon she reached the chamber and Crystal caught sight of what she was looking for. She would find a way up, but know she wanted to examine the thing she had seen through the hole. Rising to her feet, Crystal knocked off the dust from her clothes and looked around. She had not fallen deep, but the rest of the ladder, that was still intact was beyond her reach. She landed on her bottom, quickly shielding her head with her arms from the falling wood, that came pouring down on her. But then: CRACK! The wood shattered under her feet and Crystal was dragged down by gravity and fell with the rest of the ladder to the ground. From there they were complete to the ground. When she had foothold, she placed her other foot on the rung. And a bit further, until she had reached the rung with the tip of her shoe. The next rung was a bit further beneath, because the other three were missing. Carefully she descended step by step, watching her feet. Bravely she set foot on the ladder, which creaked under her weight, but it was stable. What a sad and beautiful story at the same time, Crystal thought. After having given life to the dead, the Rainbow-Pokemon disappeared and had never come back since. The winged Rainbow-Pokemon then had revived those Pokemon and they had been newly born, like a Phoenix out of ashes. But then a lightning bolt had struck the tower and had burnt it to ashes and in its flames three Pokemon had lost their lives. Legends tell, that once it had been a high tower to praise a legendary Pokemon with wings as colorful as the rainbow. Crystal was not sure about this, but she was eager to discover what was in the basement of this old and burnt building.

The ladder was old and partly some of their rungs were missing. As she was walking around the hole, still observing the stone beneath, she made out a ladder, which seemed to lead downstairs. All she had to do was to find a way down in order to reach this mysterious stone thing. Crystal peered down the hole of the shattered and burnt floor.
